UPDATE
Regarding congestion issues in Brisbane experienced on Friday 23/5/08.
We have received notification that the affected circuits were brought back into service on Friday evening. We have performed testing over the weekend and now this morning during business hours, and traffic appears to be flowing normally.

---Original outage message---
As some customers are aware, there is currently an outage in the Charlotte (Brisbane) exchange, affecting inbound circuits carrying calls from Telstra to Clove DID's in Brisbane.

Telstra engineers have been working on the issue for several hours and as yet are still unable to provide an eta on full resolution.
Some traffic is being re-routed via alternate routes, however the volume of calls is pushing those alternate routes to capacity.
The result has been that Telstra customers calling Clove DID's in Brisbane have heard congestion messages.

Please be assured the issue has been escalated to the highest levels and there is a team of engineers at Telstra working on the issue.

We expect the volume of calls to be reduced after 5pm today and so traffic should flow more freely through the alternate routes.

Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

Description: Optus have advised that they will be replacing the memory of a core router in Sydney on Tuesday, 20th May 2008. During the outage window dsl sessions will be ''bounced'' ( dropped and reconnected ) twice. Some customers may need to powercycle their CPE to bring their connection backup.
